The terms of using this site.
These Terms govern access to and use of the public website and evaluation prototype at reliefpay.org. Production deployments with humanitarian organisations are covered by separate signed agreements.
The short version.
- ReliefPay is an early-stage prototype. It runs on a public test network (Sepolia). It is not a live financial service.
- You may browse and interact with the prototype for evaluation, research, and demonstration purposes.
- You may not use the site to break the law, bypass sanctions, run attacks against it, or harm others.
- The service is provided as-is, without warranties. We are not liable for losses arising from prototype use.
- If you represent a humanitarian organisation interested in a pilot, contact hello@reliefpay.org. A separate agreement will govern any production deployment.
The parties.
These Terms are between you (whether acting in your personal capacity or on behalf of an organisation) and ReliefPay, a humanitarian payments infrastructure project currently operated as a sole-trader venture pending incorporation in Sweden or South Africa, with its principal contact at hello@reliefpay.org.
By accessing or using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What ReliefPay does.
ReliefPay is infrastructure for humanitarian cash and voucher assistance. The site at reliefpay.org comprises:
- A public marketing and documentation site.
- An evaluation prototype with three roles (donor console, recipient view, vendor terminal) running on the Sepolia Ethereum test network.
- Documents describing our commitments and approach.
- Vendor onboarding and payout-profile tools used by approved shops to provide settlement details to the NGO programme operator.
The prototype is a demonstration. Transactions occur on a test network using test tokens that have no monetary value. Do not treat the prototype as a live financial service and do not transfer real assets to it.
What you can and can’t do.
You are welcome to browse the site, run the prototype, read our commitments, and contact us about partnership. You are also welcome to share the site publicly, link to it, and quote from it with attribution.
You agree not to:
- Use the site to break applicable law, including sanctions regimes, anti-money-laundering rules, counter-terrorist-financing rules, or export controls.
- Attempt to access data or systems you have not been authorised to access.
- Conduct automated scraping at volumes that degrade service for other visitors. For significant data extraction, please ask.
- Attempt to introduce malware, exploit vulnerabilities, or disrupt service. For legitimate security research, see our Responsible Disclosure policy.
- Impersonate ReliefPay, its contributors, or a humanitarian organisation.
- Use the site to harass, defame, or harm other people.
- Input real personal data of vulnerable people into the demonstration prototype. The prototype is for evaluation only.
Ownership and permissions.
The ReliefPay name, logo, website design, and written content are the intellectual property of ReliefPay and its contributors, protected under applicable copyright and trademark law.
You may read, share, quote from, and reference the site and its documents for non-commercial, editorial, or evaluation purposes with attribution to ReliefPay.
The underlying source code of the prototype and smart contracts may, at our discretion, be released under an open-source licence. Where it is, that licence governs. Where it is not, rights are reserved.
If you want to use the ReliefPay name or materials commercially, to build a derivative product, or in any context we haven’t covered here, please write to hello@reliefpay.org.
What we don’t promise.
These clauses are standard for prototype software; we have written them plainly but they carry the usual legal force.
The service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ReliefPay disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the prototype will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
No financial service. The prototype is a demonstration. Funds moved through it are on a test network and carry no monetary value. We are not a bank, payments institution, money-services business, virtual-asset service provider, or regulated entity. Nothing on the site constitutes financial, investment, or legal advice.
Vendor payout details. If you are an approved vendor, you may provide bank account details so the NGO can settle approved claims through its own finance process or configured settlement provider. ReliefPay records the payout trail, but does not become the holder of programme funds.
Blockchain risk. Interactions with public blockchains are inherently experimental. Transactions are final and cannot be reversed. Wallets may be lost if private keys or recovery material are lost. We are not liable for losses arising from blockchain interactions or for the conduct of third-party infrastructure providers.
Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ReliefPay will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site or prototype. Our aggregate liability in any matter arising from these Terms is limited to EUR 100.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Services we rely on.
The site and prototype rely on third-party infrastructure, listed in our Privacy Policy. Their terms of service and privacy policies govern your interactions with them. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their conduct.
Keeping these up to date.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue the site or prototype at any time during the prototype phase, including without notice. Any commercial deployment will be governed by its own signed agreement, not these Terms.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will bump the version number at the top of this page. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance.
We may restrict or terminate your access to the site or prototype if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.
Which law applies.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Stockholm, Sweden.
This is without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights you may have under the law of your place of residence, and without prejudice to applicable rights under South African law where ReliefPay processes data relating to South African data subjects.
This clause will be finalised in consultation with counsel once the operating entity is formally incorporated, at which point the governing jurisdiction may be updated to match.

Final Terms will be reviewed by specialist counsel before we take on the first paying production deployment. In the meantime, these terms apply to the public site and prototype in good faith.
